After my 9th session of chemotherapy, I have to back to Dr Mona Tan for a review on how much my tumors have shrank thus far.
It was on 23 November 2017 morning, whereby I had to go and take a mammogram and ultrasound before my consultation with Dr Mona Tan. If anyone has taken a mammogram before, you know it hurts real bad. But not sure why, maybe due to the chemotherapy and how it affect the tumors, I did not experience as much pain as before.
Around 12pm, I went back to Dr Mona Tan’s clinic. When I stepped into her office, she told me the best news that I have hear for the past 2 months. She said that my tumors have shrank significantly and I can go for breast conservation surgery after my 1st round of chemotherapy has ended.
In my heart, I was shouting so loudly “Thank you lord!”. Best news ever!

This would be me if I can do it in her office!
After telling me the good news, Dr Mona Tan told me that besides removing the tumors , she would be removing all the lymph nodes and not only those that are infected with cancer cells as she is afraid that there are cases of false negative. She also explained to me that after removing all the lymph nodes, I would need to be very careful for the rest of my life. As I cannot over strain my left arm and I cannot carry things more than 5kg as it may cause lymphoedema.
After I came out of her office, I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face. Praise God! I cannot wait for 4th January 2018 to come…
